Dr.Vandana Gandhi,CEO and Founder of British Orchard Nursery was born and brought up in UAE, her passion for education has driven her to earn a Mathematics honours degree, Post Graduate Diploma in International Business, distinction in Masters in Education from the UK, and Doctorate in Education from the University of Birmingham, U.K.
She has varied interests in Calligraphy, Yoga, Scriptural Studies, Squash, Table Tennis etc., other than creating stimulating surroundings and interesting concepts for the young minds.
Having been nurtured in a Sindhi business environment, Dr.Vandana always wanted to do something innovative. Her family has been in the shipping, logistics packing and textile business. Supported by her father Late Kumar Gandhi, she has a clear vision for being self-reliant and innovative. She is the only girl in the family with three brothers.
She worked with multinational banks to gain the learning experiences in Wealth Management and Quality Customer Care. She earned many accolades and won the Chairman’s Awards consecutively for four years.
Dr.Vandana Gandhi, has always had a passion for child care and enhancement of education quality. Learning from her father Dr.Vandana has inculcated values like grit, determination and will power in her. The “can do” attitude and solution finding skill she has acquired from him has helped her lead an agile and forward thinking organization.
British Orchard Nursery has grown from a single Nursery to 20 Branches, catering 1200 + students including 4 prestigious partnership contracts with Government of Dubai to provide Nursery care and facilities in DEWA, ADCO in Abu-Dhabi and Dubai Municipality.
The expansion and commitment to offering development for pre-school children was a shared goal for her and her staff and she is proud to have been able to do it for them and for the families who have shared in their Nursery experience and privileged to have the opportunities to contribute to the society and the underprivileged too.
Dr.Vandana Gandhi’s contribution has been recognized through the prestigious Emirates Women Award & GR8 Woman Award. Under her leadership, the school has won the most woman friendly employer by WIL Economic Forum, Dubai Quality Appreciation Award, Dubai Human Development Appreciation Award, Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award, and the Arabia CSR Award. Dr.Vandana Gandhi has been sought out as a panelist at education conferences throughout UAE and India.
Dr.Vandana Gandhi’s appreciation for quality and excellence continues to drive her research for best practice in early childhood education to further share it with Government bodies and other establishments.
